What is a Participatory Approach?
A participatory approach means that the people affected by an issue are actively involved in defining problems, developing solutions, making decisions, and evaluating outcomes. This approach is based on the principle that people have the right to participate in decisions that affect their lives and that local knowledge is essential for effective solutions.
By implementing participatory methods, we ensure that our work is relevant, responsive, and sustainable. This approach shifts power dynamics, builds local capacity, and leads to solutions that are more likely to be embraced and maintained by communities.

Implementation in Our Work
Case Study: Community Development Project
In our Community Development Project, we applied a participatory approach from the very beginning by establishing a community steering committee comprised of diverse local representatives. This committee played a central role in identifying community priorities, designing project activities, and making decisions about resource allocation.
Throughout the project, we used participatory methods such as community mapping, focus group discussions, and participatory budgeting to ensure broad and meaningful engagement. We also invested in capacity building to strengthen the community's ability to lead and sustain the initiatives. As a result, the project achieved high levels of community ownership and has continued to thrive beyond our direct involvement.
