Our Objectives
Working together to make research and innovation inclusive for all
What We Aim to Achieve
At the Center for Inclusion Research and Innovation (CIRI), we have established clear objectives to guide our work towards a more inclusive research and innovation ecosystem. Our objectives reflect our commitment to ensuring that persons with disabilities are fully represented and included in research across all domains.
Foster Inclusive Research Methodologies
Develop and promote research approaches that ensure meaningful participation of persons with disabilities throughout the research process, from design to dissemination.
Build Capacity for Disability Inclusion
Enhance the capacity of researchers, organizations, and institutions to conduct disability-inclusive research through training, resources, and technical support.
Advance Evidence-Based Innovation
Support the development and evaluation of innovations that address the barriers faced by persons with disabilities and promote their full participation in society.
Strengthen Partnerships and Collaboration
Facilitate connections between researchers, persons with disabilities, policymakers, and practitioners to ensure that research translates into practice and policy.
Influence Policy and Practice
Use research evidence to advocate for policies and practices that promote disability inclusion and the rights of persons with disabilities at local, national, and international levels.
Our Strategic Approach
Participatory Research Approach
We practice and advocate for research that includes persons with disabilities as active participants and co-researchers, ensuring their perspectives and experiences shape the research process and outcomes.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
We bring together expertise from diverse fields such as health, education, technology, and policy to address the complex and interconnected challenges faced by persons with disabilities.
Knowledge Translation
We transform research findings into accessible formats and practical tools that can be used by diverse stakeholders, including persons with disabilities, practitioners, and policymakers.
Continuous Learning and Improvement
We regularly evaluate and refine our approaches based on feedback from participants, partners, and the disability community to ensure our work remains relevant and impactful.
Join Us in Our Mission
By working together with researchers, organizations, policymakers, and most importantly, persons with disabilities, we can create a research and innovation ecosystem that is truly inclusive and representative. We invite you to partner with us in achieving these objectives.
